Synopsis:

Long before Hou Hsiao-hsien’s FLOWERS OF SHANGHAI, Yonfan made his own versi on of this famous novel about Shanghai courtesans. Set in the then Portuguese colony of Macau. IMMORTAL STORY depicts the story of the love affair between a small time chainteuse and her Japanese beau. They met when both were young and pretty and again many years later when he had became a drug addict and she a fallen woman. IMMORTAL STORY is Yonfan’s homage to the filmed classic French romantic tragedics and marks Yanfan’s first time collaboration with Asian superstar/diva Sylvia Chang.
