Synopsis:

A remake of the 1985 directional debut of Joel and Ethan Coen, BLOOD DIMPLE. Transposing the celebrated mix of dark humor and riveting suspense to China, the film is helmed by ZHANG YIMOU.

Wang is a cunning noodle shop owner in a desert town in China. Feeling neglected, Wang's wife secretly goes out with Li, one of the employees. A timid man, Li reluctantly keeps the gun she bought for killing her husband. However, their moves can't escape the boss's notice and Wang decides to bribe a patrol officer, Zhang, to kill the illicit couple. It looks like a perfect plan, but the wicked Zhang has his own agenda that will see more violence than necessary..
