Synopsis:

Au Yeung Wai Yip is a private detective who has been focusing on missing persons and adultery investigations for many years. One day, he received a “special” commission: the owner of the travel agency had asked him to investigate his girlfriend, who happened to be Au Yeung Wai Yip’s wife.Being a private detective, he is used to looking for the truth with cold eyes for his clients, but he finds it difficult to face the truth about their own marriage. Unable to withstand his inner torment, Au Yeung Wai Yip gave up on another ongoing case - a client’s search for his missing fiancée - and went to the hotel to catch the adulterer. Unfortunately, the marriage could not be saved in the end, and the client’s fiancée was killed after he left. A seemingly ordinary affair turned into a murderous incident! 

歐陽偉業 (古天樂 飾) 是一名落魄的私家偵探，委託人都是找他處理通姦、尋人、寵物 失蹤等微不足道的小案。這天他收到一宗「特別」的委託：一名旅行社老闆要求他調 查自己的女朋友，而這名女子不是別人，竟是歐陽偉業的妻子關詠心 (周秀娜 飾)。私家偵探習慣以冰冷的目光為客戶尋找真相，然而要面對自己的婚姻真相卻感到寸步 難行。敵不過內心煎熬，歐陽偉業放棄正在進行的另一宗案件——為客戶尋找其失蹤 未婚妻——的調查，前往酒店捉姦。沒想到最後婚姻保不住，客戶的未婚妻更在他離 開現場後被殺，原以為的普通出軌事件竟演變成一場謀殺！負責調查這宗謀殺案的警員陳康民 (劉冠廷 飾)，同時是一位所有人眼中的好丈夫，發現遭同類型手法殺害的女子不止一個，兇手極有可能是連環殺手。歐陽偉業將線索交予陳康民後，發現自己已不知覺地陷於錯綜複雜的謎團之中，危機 亦在重重迷霧中迫近。阻止兇手殺害下一個目標，他必須憑藉專業偵探的直覺去力挽狂瀾。
